If that's the case, and those willing to spend ~$200 for a hand grinder want the best, then why not stick the same burr in a grinder body sized for those who want 500 mL ...The ZP6 hands down is 200% better in terms of narrow grind distribution.. but it very well may be that’s not something you value, or even find good tasting. The Timemores are excellent grinders, but will present more of a traditional profile, produced from a wider particle distribution. At matching mean particle diameter with grinders like the Zp6 and C40, it produces a more even particle shape as per the Gagne app which does have its limitations. On Kruve sifting with 200um bins at the same setting which also has some limitations, it consistently has less fines and less boulders than either conical.I thought about selling the KMax and getting a zp6, but truth be told I really like the KMax and like having the ability to grind for a sweeter, more full bodied pourover when in the mood. The zp6 would produce cups too similar to the 078, and I’d rather have an endgame-ish electric grinder than another hand grinder.Ode Gen2 - https://amzn.to/41ooqHi1Zpresso K Ultra - https://amzn.to/3SnJjhEFollow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/hoonscoffeeaz/As an Amazon Assoc...On this page for K-series and ZP6 it says "If the red dot can still pass #0, loosen the adjustment dial a little and repeat Step 2 until the red dot aligns with #0" I take that to mean, that zero point for those grinders should be full burr lock.. No shenanigans! Based on his review, the X-pro is the brighter, cleaner one, and it is less than the ZP6. The Zp6 shines at higher extractions when trying to push sweetness and clarity. It shines as a transparent and neutral window to the coffee and roast quality without adding further embellishments. The only downside (and it's like one I can think of so far) is that the X-Pro will take a longer period of time to grind than the K6, and that's due to the Burr size. Not sure if that will change your opinion, just something I noted. You also have to shake the grinder a as beans tend to get stuck above the burrs.1Zpresso ZP6 special is the latest 1Zpresso grinder, having been released in late 2022. Supposedly, they have more “body”, but I don ...Based on the crowd opinion no one has suggested the zp6 I think, so I assume you’ll get the kmax. I have a 83mm flat burr grinder (df83) with ssp burrs, zp6, and the kmax. I’d say after you (probably) get the kmax, the zp6 is incredibly high value. Tbh I think I get more uniformity from the zp6 vs my ssp burrs.I did a H2H test of the C40 MK IV against the ZP6. These are my preliminary findings. ZP6 Grind setting: ~4.2 (Still grappling with the grind setting; visually its halfway between 4 and 4.5) Brewing observations: Both grinders drawdown finished by around 2mins25s with ZP6 having a slightly faster drawdown at ~2min20s. The commandante in general feels a bit old and grinding is not as pleasant. ZP6 is a LOT cheaper than a C40 with red clix like mine is. So the ZP6 is just the better bang for the buck. Feels more modern and has an easier workflow while adjusting and grinding.. Margaux hemingway playboy
